Welcome to the VM Heating & Cooling Services blog.

We wanted our first post to be simple: introduce ourselves, tell you a little about who we are, what we do, and what you can expect from us both in the field and here on our website.

VM Heating & Cooling Services is a family-owned HVAC and plumbing company serving Sacramento and surrounding communities. We work on residential heating, cooling, plumbing, heat pump, mini-split, ductwork, water heater, and related home-comfort projects.

But our goal has never been simply to install equipment.

We want to build a company known for quality workmanship, communication, technical knowledge, and doing things the right way.

HVAC Is Where Our Story Started

HVAC has been at the center of what we do from the beginning.

Our work includes HVAC system replacements, heat pump conversions, traditional split systems, package units, ductwork, mini-split systems, repairs, diagnostics, maintenance, indoor air quality, and new construction.

We work with many different types of equipment and technologies, but we have developed a particular interest in modern inverter-driven heat pump systems.

Heat pumps have changed significantly over the years. Today, properly designed systems can provide both heating and cooling efficiently while allowing homeowners to reduce or completely eliminate their dependence on natural gas for space heating.

We work with equipment from manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Bosch, American Standard, Goodman, Daikin, and others depending on the project.

VM Heating & Cooling Services is a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor.

Mitsubishi systems are especially interesting to us because of the flexibility they provide.

Depending on the home, we can design systems using wall-mounted mini-splits, concealed ducted air handlers, multi-zone systems, or more traditional centrally ducted configurations.

Being a Diamond Contractor also allows us to provide qualifying Mitsubishi installations with enhanced manufacturer warranty coverage.

For homeowners considering a Mitsubishi heat pump or mini-split system, our job is not simply to sell equipment. We look at the home, the application, electrical requirements, ductwork when applicable, comfort goals, and system design before recommending an option.

Helping Homeowners Understand Heat Pump Rebates

California has been investing heavily in building electrification and high-efficiency heat pump technology.

Because of our involvement with programs including SMUD and TECH Clean California, we have worked with customers on projects where available rebates significantly reduced the cost of switching from a gas heating system to an electric heat pump.

Rebate programs change over time, and eligibility depends on the home, equipment, utility provider, project, and available funding.

That is why we believe homeowners should understand the complete project before making a decision.

We understand that price matters.

HVAC and plumbing projects can represent a significant investment, and homeowners should compare their options.

But our goal is not to become the cheapest contractor in Sacramento.
